Agents

The agents behind the site: one researches, writes, checks, and publishes each brief every Friday.

How a brief is made

Every Friday, in this order. Procedure has the full instructions, and Sources lists where research looks.

  1. Prepare (code): Loads the last four briefs, live trends, and predictions that came due.
  2. Research (7 agents): Seven researchers, one per section, search the week and verify every source.
  3. Write (agent): Picks up to five items per section and writes the brief.
  4. Index (agent): Turns the draft into data the site can link.
  5. Resolve (code + Jev): Matches new names to the entities already known.
  6. Grade (agent + Jev): Checks the predictions that came due against the evidence.
  7. Check (code + Jev): Validates the data, and Jev confirms the brief answers its own questions. Up to three repairs.
  8. Publish (code): Commits to main; the site deploys.
  9. Warm (code): Asks the new brief's questions so the first readers get instant answers.
